The God of Light
This Morning I jogged up to the pond located here on the Ranch. No matter how many times I go up there I never cease to be amazed at the beauty entrapped in such a small place. Some people may say that it is dirty, or less than appealing but my heart sings when I'm up there. After I got to the top I stopped and watched as Emmaline was swimming. I was looking at the trees and the sun was just starting to peek through the thick leafs. You could see each individual ray peeking through, it was breath taking, the rays washed down and floated on the water, causing the water to sparkle. As I watched this scene I thought about Christ. Sometimes our lives are like that of the thick trees and underbrush. Even as Christians we go through hard times, we feel as though we are trapped in a deep dark forest where no light can reach us, that there is no way out. At times we may even feel like there is no hope, no light, no truth, we are in despair. But just like the sun rose above the brush, and density, the SON will rise above our despair and heartache. Isaiah 9:2 says " The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light;those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness,on them has light shined." Christ redeemed us on the cross, making us like the sparkling water, reflecting his glory. Once we have become Christians we have been given the light also, Matthew 5:16 says "In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." It is comforting to think that no matter how "great" our problems that our father is greater. That nothing can stomp out the Light and that the Light can rise above anything thing that we face.

I miss the pond. Thanks for letting me experience it vicariously through you. Your words are beautiful and inspiring.
Were you writing to me? This blog really touched me and made me think. You have a great spiritual aptitude like your DeeDee. I am so proud of you and the growth you are experiencing there.
I love you, Mom
That was great! It looks to me, that in Honduras God is showing you a real spiritual gift that complements your natural ability to write. To be able to tie everyday experiences with Scripture makes for a powerfull teacher and writer.I could not be prouder than I am of you!
Love,
Dad
Wow! You continue to amaze me. I am sitting here reading with tears in my eyes. You rock...you know that? I sooooo enjoyed talking with you on Sunday. You will never know how much I love it when you call me and I can hear your voice! I love you...yfa
Hi Jessi, That was a wonderful post and beautiful thoughts. Your Dad is right about you being able to put real life to scripture, that was awesome!! I also loved the story about the frogs! I received your blog from Ken at The Peoples Church. I tried to send you an email but it would not go through. I just felt like the Lord lead me to inquire about a missionary over seas that I could send a note or card to and he gave me your name. I think what you are doing in Honduras is great. He did mention that you had signed on for another year, thank you for being faithful and following the Lord's calling for you. May he keep you and protect you and comfort your parents knowing you are in His hands. Blessings, Carol
